Position: Operations Manager – Transportation (Houston, TX)We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to lead our Houston transportation operations. This role supports the VP of Operations and is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a passion for operational excellence in the transportation industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the VP of Operations in managing daily transportation activities.
  • Oversee fleet operations including vehicle maintenance, scheduling, and dispatch coordination.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
  • Analyze performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and support team members to foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize vehicle repairs (in-house and external).
  • Conduct daily key audits and maintain accurate vehicle inventory records.
  • Manage onboarding and decommissioning of fleet vehicles.
  • Partner with Driver Services and Safety teams to ensure compliance with driver, vehicle, and drug & alcohol program requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in transportation or fleet operations management.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with transportation management systems and operational tools.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Thorough understanding of transportation regulations and compliance standards.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License required.
